Washington, D.C. — Today, Congressman Andrew Clyde (GA-09) and 16 original cosponsors introduced a resolution to recognize January 22nd, the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, as the Day of Tears to memorialize the unborn victims of abortion. Senator Mike Braun (R-IN) introduced the companion resolution in the Senate.
The resolution encourages Americans to lower their flags to half-staff every January 22nd in honor of the millions of unborn children lost to abortion.
“Since Roe v. Wade, the evils of abortion have unlawfully terminated more than 60 million innocent lives — all precious, worth saving, and made in the perfect image of God,” said Clyde. “I’m proud to introduce this resolution to recognize the anniversary of this dreadful decision as the Day of Tears to honor and mourn the loss of these unborn children.”
“Every life is precious life that deserves to be protected. I am proud to introduce the Senate resolution recognizing the over 60 million lost to abortion since the Supreme Court’s 1973 decision and calling for flags to be flown at half-staff in their memory,” said Braun.
