Congressional App Challenge


Who Can Participate?

 

The Congressional App Challenge is a nationwide competition inviting students to design and build their very own software application—or “app.” Whether it’s for web, mobile, desktop, or another platform, this is your chance to showcase your STEM skills, creativity, and problem-solving.

 

Eligibility:

  • Middle & High School students (Grades 6–12)
  • Must live in or attend school in Georgia’s Ninth Congressional District
  • Work solo or team up! Students may compete individually or in teams of up to 4

 

What’s at Stake?

 

For 2025, prizes for winning apps include:

  • Featured on the U.S. House of Representatives’ website
  • Displayed in the U.S. Capitol Building
  • Invitation to the #HouseofCode reception, a celebration in Washington, D.C., where students present their apps to Members of Congress

 

App Topics & Platforms

 

The app can cover any topic and be developed for:

  • Web
  • Mobile
  • Desktop
  • Or any other digital platform of your choice!
