The Congressional Award is the United States Congress’ award for young Americans. It is a non-partisan, voluntary, and non-competitive program created to recognize outstanding achievement, initiative, and service of young men and women. The challenge is open to all 14- to 24-year-olds, and participants earn Bronze, Silver, and Gold Congressional Award Certificates and Bronze, Silver, and Gold Congressional Award Medals.

• Expedition/Exploration

Eligibility

The Congressional Award is for young folks in Georgia’s Ninth District. Interested participants are eligible to:

• Register when they turn 13 ½-years-old

• Submit activities starting at 14-years-old

All activities must be completed by participants’ 24^th birthday. Americans younger than 13 ½ do not yet qualify for the Congressional Award.

Annual Gold Ceremony

Each summer, Congress honors Gold Medalists at a prestigious ceremony in Washington, D.C. It's a once-in-a-lifetime recognition for youth who complete the program's highest level. Families are invited to join the celebration.
