Rep. Clyde Addresses Northeast Georgian Troops Before Overseas Deployment

GAINESVILLE, GA— Over the weekend, Representative Andrew Clyde (GA-09) attended and delivered remarks at a send-off ceremony for the Cherokee Company, 121st Infantry Regiment, of the Georgia National Guard ahead of their year-long deployment to Kuwait. On January 27th, Rep. Clyde joined the Gainesville community, local leaders, and members of the Georgia National Guard at Gainesville High School to honor Cherokee Company troops and support their loved ones. Rep. Clyde Addresses Cherokee Company Soldiers & Families As a 28-year Navy veteran who served three combat tours in Kuwait and Iraq, Rep. Clyde thanked the Cherokee Company for answering the call of duty and highlighted the importance of military service:
“The value of military service cannot be overstated, as the collective courage and sacrifices of those living and those who have gone before us have established, maintained, and fortified our freedom,” said Clyde.
“...During these times of global instability and threats from our adversaries, achieving peace through strength is paramount to protecting and preserving our freedom. So, I know I speak for all of my fellow Georgians when I say thank you, Cherokee Company, for your service and sacrifice in the defense of our precious liberties,” Clyde added.
Rep. Clyde also offered encouraging words to the family members of the Cherokee Company soldiers:
“We are incredibly grateful to you for the sacrifices you make on behalf of our freedoms,” said Clyde. “Whether you’re a parent, spouse, child, or friend, your love, support, and devotion keep America strong.”
