WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, Congressman Andrew Clyde (GA-09) released the following statement after voting against H.R. 6617, a Continuing Resolution (CR) that would extend government funding through March 11, 2022. The CR ultimately passed the House this evening by a vote of 272-162.
“Time and again, the Democrat majority has proven their complete inability to govern by failing to responsibly pass necessary federal funding. This is now the Democrats’ third stop-gap measure in this Congress, offering a band-aid solution to government funding that forces lawmakers back in the same thorny situation in less than one month. Furthermore, this temporary spending bill funds the enforcement of President Biden’s unlawful COVID-19 vaccine mandates, which have destroyed American jobs, wreaked havoc on our economy, and stained the fabric of our great nation. Defunding the Biden Administration’s medical tyranny is paramount to getting our country back on track after two years of unscientific rules mandated by hypocritical, power-thirsty politicians. Due to my commitment to both responsibly fund our government and fearlessly fight Biden’s unconstitutional vaccine mandates, I resolutely voted ‘NO’ on the Democrats’ sham Continuing Resolution.”
