Washington, D.C. — On Friday, Field Ethos released its podcast episode featuring Congressman Andrew Clyde (GA-09). During the episode, Rep. Clyde sits down with hosts Donald Trump Jr. and Jason Vincent to discuss his landmark legislation, the RETURN (Repealing Excise Tax on Unalienable Rights Now) our Constitutional Rights Act, which would eliminate the federal excise taxes on firearms and ammunition.

Background

In June, Rep. Clyde and over 50 original cosponsors introduced the RETURN our Constitutional Rights Act to repeal excise taxes on firearms and ammunition, as well as bows and arrows. As a staunch supporter and defender of Second Amendment liberties, Rep. Clyde firmly believes these taxes infringe on Americans’ constitutional right to keep and bear arms.

Since the current firearms tax revenue funds beneficial hunter education and conservation programs under the Pittman-Robertson Act, Rep. Clyde’s bill replaces this funding stream by redirecting unallocated lease revenue generated by onshore and offshore energy development on federal lands.
