Washington, D.C. — In response to Vice President Kamala Harris’ recent comments claiming the southern border is “secure,” Congressman Andrew Clyde (GA-09) led a letter to VP Harris demanding she retract and apologize for her inaccurate and deceptive statements.
In the letter, lawmakers highlight the reality of the unprecedented border crisis and request the contradictory — and nonexistent — data that led Vice President Harris to declare that the southern border is “secure.”
“Our southern border is, in fact, not secure — I know it, Americans know it, and even illegal aliens know it,” said Clyde. “Vice President Harris must immediately retract her severely deceptive claim and issue an apology for attempting to shamelessly manipulate the American people. Instead of working to conceal the Biden Administration’s manufactured mayhem, I urge our so-called ‘Border Czar’ to visit the crisis-plagued border towns and CBP agents, abandon destructive open-border policies, and provide Americans with the border security — and national security — they rightfully deserve.”
