WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congressman Andrew Clyde (GA-09) led a letter to Education Secretary Miguel Cardona condemning the Biden Administration’s proposed rule change to redefine sex-based discrimination and harassment under Title IX. In the letter, lawmakers denounce the rule change for jeopardizing the safety and success of female students: “This revision will be detrimental to women’s rights — allowing biological males to access sex-segregated spaces such as bathrooms, locker rooms, and dorm rooms, and participate in women’s sports, erasing decades of records female athletes have worked hard to achieve.” “The Biden Administration’s radical rule change to Title IX will threaten female students’ safety and privacy, undermine their achievements, and erase beneficial opportunities,” said Clyde. “Instead of advancing the dangerous war on women and pushing the Left’s extreme gender ideology on campuses across the country, Secretary Cardona must swiftly rescind this proposed rule and commit to protecting women — anything less will further endanger them.” Co-signers include: Representatives Madison Cawthorn (NC-11), Louie Gohmert (TX-01), and Tom Tiffany (WI-07).
