On Thursday, Rep. Clyde hosted Alexander, Tanner, Divya, and their families at his Gainesville District Office to recognize their impressive appointments and dedication to military service. Following remarks highlighting their hard work and individual accolades, Rep. Clyde presented each appointee with a Congressional Certificate of Congratulations and a Pledge of Commitment for signature.
“Alexander, Tanner, and Divya are highly motivated, natural leaders with servants' hearts,” said Clyde. “From West Point to Colorado Springs, I have no doubt that each of these bright Northeast Georgians will continue to make our Ninth District proud through their studies and training. Each year, Congressman Clyde nominates eligible candidates for appointment to four of the five U.S. Service Academies: U.S. Military Academy (USMA), West Point, NY; the U.S. Naval Academy (USNA), Annapolis, MD; the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA), Colorado Springs, CO; and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA), Kings Point, NY. The fifth academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy (USCGA), New London, CT, does not require a congressional nomination for appointment.
