GAINESVILLE, GA — Yesterday, Congressman Andrew Clyde (GA-09) honored the legacy of Hall County Deputy Nicolas Blane Dixon and posthumously awarded the fallen officer with the Congressional Badge of Bravery.
In July 2019, Deputy Dixon tragically lost his life pursuing a stolen vehicle after the chase spiraled into a violent shootout. Deputy Dixon is survived by his parents, brothers, wife, and two sons, all of whom attended the ceremony to receive the Badge of Bravery on his behalf.

“Deputy Nicolas Blane Dixon courageously ran toward danger, ultimately losing his life while serving to protect his fellow Northeast Georgians,” said Clyde. “After more than three years since Deputy Dixon’s tragic passing, I’m honored to posthumously award him with the Congressional Badge of Bravery, and I’m dedicated to ensuring that the Ninth always remembers Deputy Dixon’s life, legacy, and selfless sacrifice. May God bless Deputy Dixon’s family and fellow Hall County officers, and may God bless all our men and women in blue who heroically serve to keep our communities safe.”
