Rep. Clyde Applauds Trump Administration’s Illegal Immigration Crackdown in Northeast Georgia

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congressman Andrew Clyde (GA-09) lauded the actions of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for arresting criminal illegal aliens in Georgia’s Ninth Congressional District.

DHS recently launched its Worst of the Worst database to allow the American people to track the criminal illegal aliens that ICE has taken off our streets and out of our communities. The arrests include hundreds of criminal illegals in the Peach State, including 29 in Northeast Georgia — predominately in Gainesville and Lawrenceville.

“Illegal aliens have no place in the Ninth District, especially those committing violent crimes and bringing lethal drugs into our communities,” said Clyde. “Thanks to President Trump, law enforcement officials are once again empowered to remove criminal illegals from our streets — including right here in Northeast Georgia. I commend DHS and ICE for their swift and decisive action to arrest and deport these dangerous criminals, bringing long-overdue accountability to those who break our laws and threaten public safety.”

Here are just a few examples of the dangerous illegals arrested in Northeast Georgia:

Background

According to the Department of Homeland Security, these arrests are part of a broader increase in immigration enforcement across Georgia under the Trump Administration. Back in August, DHS announced that ICE arrested 4,500 illegal aliens in Georgia within the first six months of President Trump’s second term, marking a 367% increase in illegal alien arrests in the Peach State compared to the same period in 2021 under the Biden Administration.
