GAINESVILLE, GA — Today, Congressman Andrew Clyde (GA-09) announced his 2025 Academy Connect, an informative webinar designed to help Ninth District students and their families learn about the five U.S. Service Academies and the congressional nomination process.

“One of the greatest honors of serving the Ninth District in Congress is the opportunity to nominate Northeast Georgian students to our nation’s prestigious military academies. I highly encourage all students who are interested in receiving a congressional nomination to attend our Academy Connect webinar to gain beneficial insight into both the application and nomination process,” said Clyde.

Each year, Congressman Clyde nominates eligible candidates for appointment to four of the five U.S. service academies: U.S. Military Academy (USMA), West Point, NY; the U.S. Naval Academy (USNA), Annapolis, MD; the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA), Colorado Springs, CO; and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA), Kings Point, NY. The fifth service academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy (USCGA), New London, CT, does not require a congressional nomination for appointment.

Academy Connect is a one-hour webinar filled with valuable insight into the U.S. Service Academies and the congressional nomination process. It’s an excellent opportunity for students, parents, and school faculty or staff to learn about the application journey, ask questions, and prepare for next steps. The deadline to apply for a nomination from Congressman Clyde is Friday, November 7th at 5:00 PM.
