EXCLUSIVE: Rep. Clyde Sends Personal Letter Thanking Georgia Officials For Fani Willis Investigation, Offers Assistance
Republican Georgia Rep. Andrew Clyde sent a letter Wednesday to Chairman William Cowsert, who serves on the Senate Special Committee of the Georgia state Senate, thanking him for the investigation into Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. The Daily Caller first obtained a copy of the letter, in which Clyde mentions the details uncovered in the investigation, specifically the relationship with her alleged lover Nathan Wade and the alleged misuse of taxpayer funds. Willis has faced continued scrutiny over whether her indictment against Trump was politically motivated. “As we now know, recent allegations that DA Fani Willis hired a romantic partner, Nathan Wade, as special prosecutor in the case against former President Donald Trump were confirmed by Willis herself in a February 2, 2024 court filing. Based on invoices originating from the ‘Law Offices of Nathan J. Wade,’ the Fulton County District Attorney’s office paid Mr. Wade $653,881 at taxpayer expense since January 2022 for multiple billable hours, including for meetings with the Biden Administration as well as meetings concerning ‘January 6th,'” Clyde wrote in the letter. “If the Fulton County District Attorney’s office was found to have arranged meetings with White House officials at taxpayer expense to discuss the prosecution of President Biden’s chief political opponent in the 2024 Presidential Election, as we believe is alleged in the billing statements submitted for payment, this collusion would constitute a considerable breach of ethics and a serious conflict of interest,” he continued. Clyde also mentions a letter he sent in January with over two dozen members of Congress to Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp and Georgia Attorney General Christopher Carr calling for a “swift” investigation into Willis. The committee is bipartisan, with six Republicans and three Democrats, and will look into Willis’ relationship with her alleged lover Nathan Wade, and the alleged misuse of taxpayer funds. The Daily Caller News Foundation has continued to extensively report on the alleged misuse of taxpayer dollars and their alleged failure to properly report them. |
