The bill preempts certain state or local laws that tax or regulate these rifles, shotguns, and weapons. H.R.7281, the Reversing Every Vaccine Emergency Requirement and Stopping Employee (REVERSE) OSHA Mandates Act | Introduced 03/20/2022 This bill limits the authority of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to regulate workplace safety and health matters. Specifically, the bill repeals OSHA's authority to issue emergency temporary standards related to workplace safety and health. The bill further specifies that OSHA may not, under its authority to regulate workplace safety and health, require the administration of any drug, vaccine, or other biological product to an employee. 12. H.R.6861, the Reducing Costs of DHS Acquisitions Act | Introduced 02/28/2022 This bill requires notification of the Management Directorate of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Congress if a major acquisition program of DHS fails to satisfy any approved cost, schedule, or performance threshold. Major acquisition program means (1) a capital asset, service, or hybrid acquisition program that is estimated by DHS to require an eventual total expenditure of at least $300 million over the life-cycle cost of the program; or (2) an acquisition program identified as a program of special interest. If such a failure occurs, or is expected to occur, the bill requires a remediation plan and root cause analysis. The Management Directorate must review such plan and either approve it for continuation or provide an alternative proposed corrective action. 13. H.R.5512, the Reviewing and Updating Regional And Local (RURAL) Broadband Mapping Act | Introduced 10/08/2021 This bill requires the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to temporarily accept broadband mapping data from a state to use in applications for funding with respect to the deployment of broadband internet access service in the state if the state data is superior to the data used by the FCC. This requirement applies until the FCC has completed certain broadband maps that are required under current law. 14.
