Rep. Clyde, Sen. Lee Introduce End EPA Abuse Act

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Representative Andrew Clyde (GA-09) and Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) introduced the End EPA Abuse Act, legislation to amend the Clean Air Act to prevent the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from abusing its regulatory authority.

“Under the Biden Administration, the EPA increasingly treated the Clean Air Act as a blank check to push de facto electric vehicle mandates, jeopardize reliable energy sources, and impose costly regulations on American consumers and businesses,” said Clyde. “Unelected Washington bureaucrats should never have the power to dictate what kind of car Americans drive or how our country produces electricity. The End EPA Abuse Act puts Congress back in the driver's seat where it belongs, preventing any future Democrat Administration from abusing the EPA’s regulatory authority to advance the Left’s radical, anti-American energy agenda.”

“The EPA has overstepped its authority as far as possible to put America’s energy producers in a chokehold,” said Lee. “They’ve exploited any power they can grab to push Biden and Obama’s climate psychosis at the expense of our energy security. They make up and enforce regulations to suffocate America’s energy producers and devastate major sectors of our economy. The End EPA Abuse Act will clarify once and for all that policymaking belongs to Congress, whom the American people have elected – not to the leftwing bureaucracy.”

The End EPA Abuse Act is supported by the American Energy Institute, American Consumer Institute, Competitive Enterprise Institute, Frontiers of Freedom Institute, Eagle Forum, Less Government, the Heartland Institute, Center for a Free Economy, American Energy Alliance, Truth in Energy and Climate, the John Locke Foundation, Center for Energy and Conservation at Independent Women’s Voice, and Heritage Action.

“The EPA is supposed to be focused on environmental protection, not on trying to stretch the Clean Air Act to change the very nature of our economy. Yet this is exactly what has been happening in recent years. Not long ago, people would have been thought of as wacky if they claimed the EPA would try to use the Clean Air Act to kill off gas-powered cars or try and change how the country produces electricity. But this is exactly what the agency has been doing,” said CEI’s Center for Energy and Environment Director and Senior Fellow Daren Bakst.

“The End EPA Abuse Act establishes much-needed guardrails on the EPA. The bill is a means by which Congress would be reasserting its power while still allowing the EPA to do its job to protect the environment. The only thing the bill prohibits is the greatest abuses that common sense tells us Congress never authorized in the first place. Sen. Lee and Rep. Clyde should be commended for introducing this critical reform bill,” Bakst added.

The End EPA Abuse Act also received a letter of support from 20 state Attorneys General, led by West Virginia Attorney General John McCuskey.

Background

The End EPA Abuse Act amends Section 301 of the Clean Air Act to prevent regulatory overreach by:

Prohibiting regulations or waivers that could expand the EPA’s authority beyond congressional intent.
Blocking the EPA from restricting the sale or use of any vehicle or engine, including new internal combustion engine vehicles.
Preventing rules that require fuel-switching at power plants or force abandonment of coal or natural gas.
Stopping regulations that reduce grid reliability or jeopardize dependable energy supply.
Prohibiting mandates requiring unavailable, cost-prohibitive, or technically infeasible technologies, including those viable only with subsidies.

Rep. Clyde Files Articles of Impeachment Against Obama-Appointed Georgia Judge

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congressman Andrew Clyde (GA-09) filed three articles of impeachment against Eleanor Ross, a U.S. District Court Judge for the Northern District of Georgia, for high crimes and misdemeanors.

“When judges become political activists or engage in judicial misconduct, Congress bears both the responsibility and the constitutional authority to hold them accountable,” said Clyde. “Judge Ross’ deeply disturbing actions prove she is incapable of displaying integrity or showing impartiality. She’s simply unfit to remain a U.S. District Court Judge for the Northern District of Georgia, which is why I’m leading the charge to impeach Judge Ross and ultimately remove her from the bench.”

Article I: Incident to her position as a United States District Court Judge, Eleanor Louise Ross has engaged in conduct with respect to improper sexual activity in chambers with a law enforcement officer that is incompatible with the trust and confidence placed in her as a judge.

Article II: Eleanor Louise Ross engaged in judicial misconduct by attending a partisan political event.

Article III: Eleanor Louise Ross corruptly obstructed, influenced, or impeded an official proceeding.

Rep. Clyde Applauds Lanier Parks Local Access Act in Action

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congressman Andrew Clyde (GA-09) released the following statement in response to a recent announcement that Hall County Parks & Leisure will assume the management of 11 additional recreation sites along Lake Lanier through a new partnership with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE):

“I’m thrilled to see my successful legislative effort in action for the Ninth District,” said Clyde. “Last year, I offered a simple yet effective solution to help keep Lake Lanier parks open for residents and visitors alike. Due to my hard-fought efforts, this measure was signed into law by President Trump through the appropriations process — delivering a critical win for our beloved Lake Lanier and surrounding communities. I applaud Hall County and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ partnership, and I look forward to these additional recreation sites remaining open, safe, and well-maintained for years to come.”

On January 23rd, President Donald J. Trump signed H.R. 6938, the Fiscal Year 2026 (FY26) Commerce, Justice, Science; Energy and Water Development; and Interior and Environment Appropriations Act, into law. The spending package included Congressman Clyde’s legislation to protect and improve Lake Lanier’s recreation sites.

Due to Rep. Clyde’s hard-fought efforts, the FY26 Energy and Water Development appropriations bill included a provision (Sec. 109) that allows local partners that manage multiple recreation sites at a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers civil works project to spend collected user fees across all sites they oversee at that project, rather than being limited to using the fees only at the specific site where the funds were collected.

The measure mirrors Rep. Clyde’s Lanier Parks Local Access Act, which aims to incentivize local governments to manage recreation sites on civil works projects like Lake Lanier.

Last year — just days ahead of Memorial Day Weekend, the USACE Mobile District, which oversees Lake Lanier, announced the temporary closure of 11 Corps managed recreation sites due to staffing shortages.

Weeks later, Rep. Clyde introduced the Lanier Parks Local Access Act to help keep Lake Lanier’s parks and boat ramps open by incentivizing local governments to manage more sites.

Less than one year later, Rep. Clyde’s measure was signed into law by President Trump through the FY26 appropriations process and utilized by Hall County to manage 11 additional sites on Lake Lanier, including seven that were temporarily closed ahead of Memorial Day last year.

Rep. Clyde Votes for Northeast Georgia Farmers, Supports 2026 Farm Bill

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congressman Andrew Clyde (GA-09) released the following statement after the House passed H.R. 7567, the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026, commonly known as the Farm Bill, by a vote of 224-200:

“After three years of Farm Bill extensions, Washington owes our farmers, ranchers, and producers the stability needed to continue feeding, clothing, and fueling our great nation,” said Clyde. “Therefore, I proudly voted for the 2026 Farm Bill to deliver the relief and support our farmers throughout Northeast Georgia and across America deserve. From bolstering crop insurance and food security to investing in rural broadband and export programs, this legislation ensures American agriculture remains the greatest in the world.”

Background

The Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026 reauthorizes and improves programs administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) through 2031.

The 2026 Farm Bill:

Strengthens commodity programs, crop insurance, and rural development tools that stabilize farm income and food supply chains
Shifts food aid toward U.S.-grown commodities and moves authority to USDA, prioritizing domestic producers
Includes provisions on foreign ownership of farmland and strengthens domestic production capacity
Emphasizes work, diet quality, fraud reduction, and administrative oversight in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
Supports farmers and agriculture producers who are currently struggling due to ongoing supply chain disruptions by updating and reauthorizing agriculture programs

A few GA-09 specific provisions include:

Prohibits school lunch program from purchasing poultry products from China
Allows SNAP beneficiaries to purchase hot rotisserie chicken – an affordable, nutritious option currently prohibited for SNAP users
Increases funding for export promotion programs
Designates the U.S. National Poultry Research Center of USDA located in Athens, GA as the U.S. Abit Massey National Poultry Research Center. Last year, Rep. Clyde cosponsored Rep. Buddy Carter’s bill to name the USDA facility after the Gainesville poultry icon. Learn more HERE.
